Start your process with an integrated CDE approach to AWP

BlackSmithSoft AWP is fully integrated with leading CDEs including Autodesk Construction Cloud and Procore. Your 3D models, drawings, material lists, CWA / CWP/ IWP information, crew requirements, QA forms, and documents can be easily linked to the CDE which keeps track of revisions (including visual comparison of changes), annotation, status updates, approval workflows, constraints, and issues.

AWP and WFP from one place

BlackSmithSoft AWP manages the complete CWA, CWP cycle down to the smallest details needed on your IWP. All packages are linked to your 3D model components or 2D drawings.

The central part of this process is the Constraint Management system which is fully integrated with your CDE’s Issues/RFI feature to allow for full tracking and follow-up of constraints within the escalation/approval workflow process required. Constraints can be assigned to all stakeholders including planning teams, crews, and subcontractors.

Installation Work Packages to the finest detail

We focus extensively on IWPs as a critical component for the successful delivery of your projects. The IWP functionality allows for detailed 3D model view and assignment, schedule linking (directly from P6, or MS Project), linking to constraints and their statuses, Material Takeoff, readiness checklists, documents, and crew summaries (summarised scopes and snapshots to make it easier for them). We work with the leading model formats thanks to Autodesk Platform Services.

See your schedule, your way

Schedule roll-up from WFP to AWP is critical. BlackSmithSoft AWP does this in several ways, including integrating the master schedule with your 3D model and detailing it to the last IWP. BlackSmithSoft AWP also comes with the ability to do a visual “look ahead” (e.g. 3 or 16 weeks) with 4D simulation.

Projects can also be referenced with maps from InfraWorks to make 4D constructability studies even more accurate. In addition to 4D, BlackSmith WFP supports 5D which ties cost with the schedule and 3D model to allow you to better plan costs and cash flows.

Dashboards and reports the way your stakeholders need them

Reports are an integral part of the BlackSmithSoft AWP offering. Ready-to-use reports include project progress (grid, pivot, and 3D), skyline, open constraints, constraint escalation, costs, IWP backlog, IWP release plan, project audit, and IWP material status.

Dashboards are also provided with our platform. Typical dashboards include project KPIs, S-Curves, cost reports, backlog, material statuses, alerts for issues causing delays, 4D, 5D and project financials. For multi-project users, data can be consolidated to offer high-level reporting.
